Overview of the ExhibitionThe Russia Communication and Information Electronics Exhibition (SVIAZ ICT) is the largest and most professional communications equipment exhibition in Eastern Europe, co-hosted and guided by the State Duma of Russia, the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, and the Russian Federal Communications Agency. In 2026, the exhibition overcame the impact of geopolitical factors and attracted more than 360 companies from China, Russia, and Belarus, showcasing the most cutting-edge products and services in the communications field as well as those developed specifically for the Russian market.Eltex Communications, PROTEI, T8, SUPERTEL, Bazis Telecom, Informtekhnika Group, FIBO, Trialink Group, LEO TELECO, TRIALINK GROUP, EXARA, Oulefeng, and others all have relatively large booths. In 2026, the exhibition will take place in two halls for display and transactions, covering an exhibition area of more than 15,000 square meters. The exhibition will be attended by professional visitors, including 15,400 business leaders, corporate executives, professional buyers, and scholars from 30 countries and 82 regions of Russia.
During the exhibition, the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, together with the Moscow Ruby Exhibition Hall and NP REAC, held the 8th Large-Scale Communication Forum Seminar. During this period, more than 30 conferences and seminars were held on topics such as the digital future, development of big data media, international communication seminars, innovative design, and sustainable development, jointly exploring the future development directions of the communication field in Russia. More than 30 Russian domestic media outlets, represented by Russia Today (RT), as well as numerous international media, competed to report on this exhibition and the communication forum seminar. The Russian state television conducted a series of related reports on this exhibition and broadcast live the opening ceremony of the exhibition and the forum.

Market conditionsThe former CIS markets (Russian-speaking regions) have a population of nearly 300 million (Russia 150 million), making them a key regional market globally. According to the Russian Federal Communications Agency, as of 2022, the internet penetration rate in Russia had exceeded 90%, and the number of mobile communication users surpassed 250 million. This growth is attributed to significant government investment in infrastructure construction, especially in remote areas. In addition, the coverage of high-speed broadband services is continuously expanding, providing a solid foundation for the development of the communications industry. In the coming years, the Russian telecommunications market is expected to continue growing. According to a report by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), by 2025, the number of Internet users in Russia is expected to reach 115 million, with the proportion of the total population further increasing. In addition, the promotion of 5G technology is expected to become one of the key factors driving industry development. Russia has already launched 5G network pilot projects in multiple cities and plans to achieve nationwide commercial deployment in the coming years. Despite facing economic sanctions and technological blockades from Western countries, Russia's telecommunications industry has demonstrated strong adaptability and innovative spirit. Domestic companies are actively developing technological solutions to replace imported products in order to reduce dependence on external supplies. At the same time, the government is also encouraging local innovation, providing financial support and tax incentives to promote the development of high-tech industries.
